Roots was born from a simple vision and a drive to realize it. In 1973, Michael Budman and Don Green founded Roots, fueled by their affection for Ontario’s Algonquin Park and its significance to them. Starting in Toronto with footwear, Roots expanded to include durable leather bags, jackets, accessories, their iconic salt & pepper sweats, natural fiber apparel, and furnishings for the home. Our leather goods have always been and remain crafted in Canada at our own Toronto factory.
